Amy Merrick for West Elm

I promise this is going to be my last post about vases for a while. I was even thinking of delaying this for a few weeks, but West Elm is currently having a sale and these precious little beauties are in it. Aren't the shapes just gorgeous.

I will admit that I do have a bit of a problem with vases. I seem to be drawn to them and whenever I see one that catches my eye I have to fight the urge to add it to my collection. When growing up my Mum always had fresh flowers, mostly home grown fragrent roses in the house. Waking to the smell of those roses is such a wonderful lasting memory and I miss not having this in London. The roses I buy from the flower market or florist are never quite the same. But shop bought flowers with or without fragrance are wonderful, more so in a beautiful vase.

This collection has been created as part of a collaboration between Amy Merrick and West Elm. One of the things I admire about West Elm are their collaborations with artists and designers. It is such a great way for these designers to gain international exposure. Amy Merrick is a New York city based floral designer and stylist who has a stunning body of work. The front page of her website literally had me at hello. I highly recommend you check it out and if you are based in New York, she teaches floral classes out of her Brooklyn studio.
