The wardrobe decision

You may recall a few weeks ago I mentioned that Billy the carpenter had been to the house in order to provide a quote for new wardrobes and a few other bits and bobs. I had posted here about a number of different wardrobe design options but in the end I found inspiration from the US magazine, Connecticut Cottages & Gardens. I decided to use these as my inspiration and have had Billy build something along these lines.

He started work this past Bank holiday Monday on the study built-in, cellar stairs and shelving for a beautiful old wardrobe in the 'pink' bedroom.  I think I was a little naive thinking i could just clear a few things out of the study to ensure Billy had a clear workspace. He required everything to be removed, so late Monday afternoon I was moving all manner of things out of the study and bedroom. My muscles definitely didn't appreciate this unexpected workout and my OCD has struggled all week with the mess this upheaval has brought. But oh, has it been worth it. I now have so much storage space and this is without the front room being completed.

They are not yet painted so I am going to wait for the room to be decorated before I share pictures. However, the next exciting step is deciding the decorating. I have the study along with the hallway and front bedroom to decorate and will be keeping these spaces largely to a blue colour palette - inky blues and bluey greys. I'm too excited.
