I was excited to come across this refreshing beach house designed by Jenny Wolf and featured on the Lonny Magazine website. I've been feeling for a while now that I hadn't seen any designed homes that had really caught my eye. Homes which create that sort of obsessive feeling about the space. This home has really captured that feeling for me so I'm excited to share it with you.
So what do I love about this home? I would say it is the sophisticated manner in which it has been designed but with a strong injection of fun and creativity. It isn't too fussy or stuffy and it is the details which really make this an exciting home for me. The ceiling in the media room had me at hello. I love a stripped ceiling, actually I love ceilings which have been either wallpapered or painted. It is such a fun way to add a special touch to a room and need not overwhelm or make a room feel like it is drawing in on you. I think the key is to keep the pattern relatively simple and the walls plain. The strong stripe in the media room works as there are windows on all sides which open up the room.. The guest bedroom ceiling has been wallpapered with Quadrille Fabrics Java Java which sits beautifully with the plain painted walls, stunning bed and the classic Peter Dunham leaf-print fabric. The bathroom ceiling has been papered with little stars. The wallpaper used was not mentioned in the article but a similar paper could be Osborne & Little's Coronata Star or Deauville Wallpaper by Galerie One.
