Apologies for the lack of posts over the last few days. I was away in France with dear friends with the highlight of the trip being a visit to Disneyland Paris. We had such a blast and over the next few months I'm going to try to persuade my friends to head over to Alton Towers.
London has just seen the opening of the new Mondrian hotel at the Sea Containers House on the Thames. The building was originally designed in the 1970s by Warren Platner (love!) to be a hotel but due to the economic hardships of the time it was instead turned into an office building. It has had a makeover with the Morgans Hotel group commissioning Tom Dixon with his Design Research Studio to design the interiors. It looks amazing!
Drinks are going to have to be held at the Dandelyan bar over the next few weeks. The bar made of green marble overlooks the Thames and is run by Ryan Chetiyawardana a.k.a Mr Lyan, so promises to be spectacular.
The hotel also boasts an Art gallery and a Curzon cinema screening room. The lifts contain holographic images of staff from the Design Research Studio. There are too many beautiful design elements to comment on so I suggest you go and check it out for yourselves
